The United States’ First Lady Melenia Trump is reportedly mulling to divorce husband Donald Trump, a former aide of the US president claimed in a newly-published book.
The writer, Omarosa Manigault, is a former contestant of The Apprentice, a reality TV show then hosted by Trump. She worked as a political aide for Trump from January 2017 to January 2018. A report claimed that she was fired after she treated the White House car service as if her “personal uber.”
“Taken as a whole, all of her style rebellions have served the same purpose. I believe Melania uses style to punish her husband. In my opinion, Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce him,” Manigault said in her book.
Melenia married Trump back in 2005. They have a 12-year-old son named Baron.
She has been repeatedly landing in the headlines since her husband came to power. Among the most recent was when she wore the “I don’t care, do you” jacket when she visited immigrant children who were being separated by US authorities upon apprehension.
However, Manigault said in her recently-published book that she does not believe that Melenia does not have the heart for immigrant children.
“It’s my opinion that Melania was forced to go to the border that day in June, essentially, to mop up her husband’s mess. She wore that jacket to hurt Trump, setting off a controversy that he would have to fix, prolonging the conversation about the administration’s insensitivity, ruining the trip itself, and trying to make sure that no one asked her to do something like that again,” she said.
In a media interview, Manigault said there are efforts to silence her.
“I will not be intimidated,” she told the AP. “I’m not going to be bullied by Donald Trump,” she added.
